WebMind Privacy Policy
Overview
WebMind is a Chrome extension that summarizes web pages using an AI provider. This policy explains what information the extension processes, where it is stored, and when it is shared.
Information the extension processes
- The title, URL, and text content of the web page you choose to summarize.
- The AI API key you enter in the extension Settings.
- Summaries that you choose to save in the extension's local Saved list.
- A local count of how many free summaries you have used per day.
Local storage
API keys, saved summaries, and daily usage data are stored locally on your device using the Chrome Storage API. None of this data is uploaded to a server owned by the WebMind developer.
When data is transmitted
When you click "Summarize This Page," the page title, URL, and extracted text are sent directly to the AI provider you selected (Google Gemini or DeepSeek) using your own API key. The API key is sent only to that provider so the summarization request can be authorized.
What we do not collect
- No browsing history is tracked.
- No analytics or telemetry are collected.
- No accounts, names, or email addresses are required.
- No cookies are set by the extension.
Your choices
You can change or remove your API key at any time in the extension Settings. Saved summaries can be deleted individually from the Saved list. Uninstalling the extension removes the data it stored locally.
Changes to this policy
